Terminal Montage: Something About Kirby Animated Parody Series

I'm a Digital artist/Animator for the Terminal Montage Youtube channel.
We are a two person team and we release a 7 minute long animation every 1.5 months!
We achieve this by maintaining a simple art style, working smarter not harder by taking shortcuts wherever we can (reusing/editing assets), and we put our effort into areas that make the most impact in our cartoons.

Jeremey is an animation powerhouse all by himself, but he brought me onboard to speed up the process and appease the hungry Youtube Algorithm! With my 20+ years of experience in Adobe Animate, I can visually create anything he needs for his cartoons and take part in any step of the production! I take on many roles: Digital inking and coloring, storyboards, special effects, backgrounds, and compositing!

Here are some of my contributions to the "Something About Kirby" series on the Terminal Montage Youtube Channel!

2020. Role: Backgrounds and Special fx! This was the first Kirbo parody I was a part of.

My rendition of the shot. I colored the shiny floor and added blue gradients to the walls! I included the rolling mist from the previous scene to keep things "cool."

My rendition. I added depth and eerieness by including floating particles and a gritty texture overlay. Kept everything green, dark, and ominous to contrast with the previous colorful scenes of the mall!

Jeremey's background! Sometimes the animatic is detailed and only needs a little cleanup and color! We keep cleanup limited because we like the hand-drawn look! We like things finished, not perfect- to appease the Youtube algorithm.

I used colors, gradients, and effects from the previous shots for this background. Terminal Montage animated the monster in this scene, Lollergator inked and colored it!

I colored the elevator shaft. Jeremey added easter eggs! He does this to every cartoon after I hand off the backgrounds. When I see the finished project, I get to enjoy searching for the easter eggs just like everyone else!

My finished background. Lots of layers involved! Each building has windows, green moss on it, protruding grass growing off the buliding, foreground elements like the lamp post. A lot of work just for a few seconds!

My finished background of Waddle Dee Town. I didn't use outlines. I wish I could go back and change the colors and shapes of the buildings to help distinguish them from each other, but we have deadlines to meet. Finished, not perfect!

My rendition of the scene! I could darkened the foreground color a little more and added a light glow to the windows behind Leongar- but we must move fast to appease the mighty Youtube Algorithm! Still, I am very proud of our work on this episode!
