Eggbaby (Mobile Game 2012)

In 2012 I was the main artist for Nix Hydra's mobile game, Eggbaby. I helped design some elements and was given sketches and rough concepts to outline, color, and finalize for the prototype and initial release of the game. I would take art concepts from the Art Director and use Adobe Flash to outline, color, and animate all their expressions.

Once your egg hatched it could become a variety of creatures! I would receive sketches of the animals from my art director and my art partner, @lollergator. I would color and finalize them for the game.

I designed a lot of the UI. I'm proud of the health meters on the bottom right. If you balance all your eggs needs, your Egg can be healthy until it's time to hatch!

I wasn't a fan of the cloud menus that were in the game for a long time. I tried to design some alternate menus but they didn't get used.

One of the finishing touches for the game was feedback animations. I created the graphics and mockups to showcase what the animations would look like when the eggs reveal their personalities.

Initial backgrounds for the game. I didn't have a solid theme or palette to tie them all together and feel that I could have done better. Great try though!

After release of the game I was tasked with making some seasonal backgrounds for the hub world.

I would work with the programmer to put little easter eggs in the game. If you tap the cracked pipe, steam would come out! Tap a gear to get it into place and turn the other gears!
